USRFNT (User Font Utility) Version 2.06

This version of DOS can have up to 658 user-defined characters. Each characters have 26 x 30 of bitmap for printing, and they are displayed in 24 x 24 pixels on the monitor. This is sometimes used for drawing graphics in text mode.

The PS/55 covers thousands of kanji characters. This is plenty for daily communication, but not enough for specific fields such as government and the insurance industry. For example, one kanji has a part of dots like ",,,,", but one person write a part of that kanji as one straight line like "-" on his son's birth registration by mistake or something. If the government accept it, it becomes true kanji form for his name. It is impossible to cover such characters with character encoding, even Unicode can't.

BASIC Interpreter Version K3.30

This is a standalone BASIC included in the Japanese IBM DOS. The original IBM 5550 didn't include BASIC in its ROM. The PS/55 (Personal System/55) has Cassette BASIC in its ROM like the PS/2 has, but this is used to run Advanced BASIC included in the English version of PC DOS.
